Duon is a B2B SaaS platform, available on web and mobile, that helps occupational health and safety professionals conduct technical inspections across Brazilian workplaces. I joined the squad as a Product Designer, turning a paper-and-clipboard routine into a mobile experience designed to fit in the palm of their hands.
Understanding the workflow before the interface
Before opening Figma, I focused on understanding how safety inspections actually happened. I spent a day accompanying a SESMT technician during inspections and conducted interviews with other professionals to learn about their routines, challenges, and the reality behind the process.
Seeing the work firsthand changed the way I approached the problem. This was not simply about replacing a paper checklist with a digital version. The product needed to support professionals working in dynamic environments, often dealing with different lighting conditions, limited connectivity, and using mobile devices while moving through workplaces.
At the same time, every interaction needed to maintain the accuracy and compliance required by the inspection reports they generate.
The challenge was to transform a manual, paper-based process into a reliable digital experience that could support technicians both in the field and back at the office.

Translating complex processes into digital experiences
Duon was built to support occupational health and safety professionals managing complex inspection processes across Brazilian workplaces. Within the product team, I partnered with another designer to evolve two different areas of the platform: SESMT workflows and medical management.
My focus was the SESMT side of the product, where I designed the Duon Checklist mobile experience, a key part of the PGR workflow. While my design partner focused on medical management solutions, I worked closely with product and engineering teams to transform safety technicians' routines into clearer, more efficient digital workflows.
The challenge was not simply replacing paper-based processes. It was understanding the complexity behind inspections, regulatory requirements, and documentation needs, while creating an experience that worked for professionals both in the field and in the office.

Building consistency as the product evolved
As the Duon platform grew across different workflows and teams, I helped maintain and evolve the design foundations behind the product, ensuring components, patterns, and interface decisions remained consistent and scalable.
The goal was not just creating reusable UI elements, but building a shared language between design and development that made collaboration smoother and future iterations more efficient.
Beyond the interface, I also contributed to strengthening the design culture within the squad. I facilitated an internal workshop, Design in Digital Product Conception, introducing product design principles to engineers and stakeholders and encouraging earlier discussions around user needs, problems, and possible solutions.

A unified ecosystem for occupational safety.
Duon brought field inspections and office analysis into the same flow. By designing for both the technician on the warehouse floor and the analyst at the desk, the platform replaced fragmented paperwork with a single source of truth for safety compliance.
My Contribution
- —End-to-end product design for web and mobile
- —Field research and technician shadowing
- —Design system maintenance and evolution
- —Workshop facilitation on design culture
The impact went beyond the interface itself: technicians were able to complete inspections more efficiently, and the team had a stronger foundation to continue evolving the product.
